ALDOT has received an approved Environmental Assessment on the lands under consideration for an improvement project on US-11 in Vance, Alabama.
This approximate 7.7-mile project will improve road conditions from Daimler Benz Boulevard to Alabama Highway 5.
Growth in the area is cited as the driving factor behind the expansion. “[I]nfrastructure is needed to support the growing increase in traffic,” the official project page states. The area had seen almost a 5% increase in traffic volume between the years 2014 – 2016 and as the 2020 Census data is released, considerable growth should be expected for the area.
